I have just started a new project, The Women In Technology.
The goals of the project include:
- Recognizing women who are pursuing careers in technology;
- Encouraging young women to pursue careers in technology;
- Showing by example how to write a blog about women;
- Encouraging women not in technology to create their own blogs;
- And, most important, encouraging the survivors of our Fallen Soldiers to write about themselves and their Fallen Soldier.
This project will be done as part of the Chay Project.
I was inspired to start this project courtesy of a daily link that can be found in Steve O’Grady’s excellent blog, which contains a link to a post by Isabel Wang.
By this post I am inviting Isabel to join me as a co-founder of the project, and I will also extend the invitation via email.
By the way, this is a reminder that those who provide links via del.icio.us provide a valuable service. This is especially true of people such as the Redmonker’s who follow many, many, blogs and sites. I thank them for their service to the community.
While I have been thinking of starting this project for the last few weeks, it was Steve’s link that prompted me to so, and I thank him for that.
All are welcome to participate, and I hope this blog will soon evolve into a multi-author blog.
The URL of the project is thewit.wordpress.com, which should be read as TheWIT.wordpress.com, as these women are fellow members of The Wayward Internet Technologists, the wayward-word-press-announce: The Wayward Internet Technologists, the TWITs.
