Why Ubuntu? The NY Times Picked It To Represent Linux, And Said Good Things About It.

See my post Larry Magid: The Next Leap for Linux.

NWalt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal recently picked Ubuntu to represent Linux in his recent review, Linux’s Free System Is Now Easier to Use, But Not for Everyone.

Walt’s review is more sceptical. I agree with him more than the Maggid review, and plan to write several forthcoming posts digging deeper into the insights that can be gained by reading his review closely.

However, the key point remains is that both reviews of Linux in major publications picked Ubuntu as the Linux distribution of most interest to the mainstream community.

They were correct in doing so, as can be seen, I hope, by my other Ubuntu Posts.
